We are now looking for highly intelligent, autonomous and flexible SaaS sales people to join the team. The team has developed from a tight-knit trio of founders to a team of 30 and continues to grow at speed. The company operates with a high level of flexibility and encourage salespeople to apply their own methods and skill to winning high-quality deals, rather than securing business at any cost to hit a number.
The first key hire will focus on all major bid business, whilst supporting sales of a new product, currently being developed specifically for online memberships sites. However, the main focus is on securing enterprise level deals with major household names.
The emphasis will be placed on securing great clients that can grow over time, rather than transactional quick wins with no longer-term value. Typically, contract values range from £300-500k and therefore can often result in longer sales cycles with more complexity, consistent with a product that has no traditional buying line or history.
These can often take 6-9 months and would typically sign 2-3 year contracts. The platform has delivered phenomenal success for the clients who have signed up, and you’ll be armed with impressive case studies that demonstrate a clear ROI.
Equally, there is an educational part to this sale because of the uniqueness and you’ll need to be comfortable taking this type of product to market where new hurdles and objections can occur. It requires a genuine, solutions focus and a commitment to delivering the right product to the client.
It’s essential you are naturally customer focused. The whole proposition is based around improving consumer customer engagement and you’ll need to have an appreciation of how consumer engagement can impact the ROI of a business. This is a mature start-up environment that works fast and you’ll need to be comfortable in an exceptionally hands-on environment, where you’ll be given the chance to make your own mark on how the sales team evolves.
This is a start-up with traction; however, sales processes are still being worked on and you’ll need to be comfortable being part of the team that shapes the sales strategy. There is some ambiguity; however, this is also where the opportunity lies as you’ll input will be extremely visible and your success will result in quick progression.
You will need to demonstrate success in securing great quality enterprise SaaS deals; however, beyond that, it’s your mindset and intelligence that will make you stand out. There would be a preference for start-up experience; however, this is by no means essential if you feel you have the right qualities.
