The Company:

My client is one of the leading specialist travel companies in the UK and is now one of the most visited e-commerce sites in the UK.  They have been hugely successful thanks largely to the proposition itself but also because they are genuinely innovative and always looking to improve.

Mobile apps are one of the major growth areas for the business. Since they launched their first app, the mobile market has grown rapidly – with over half of customer contacts now coming from a mobile phone or tablet device.

They have native apps for all major platforms, and are passionate about making these into applications that people love and cannot live without – investing in excellent usability and design, supported by powerful features and functionality. They are in the process of in-sourcing development capabilities and growing the mobile delivery team - and as such are seeking an experienced Mobile Product Owner with experience of delivering fantastic mobile applications in a product centric agile environment.

The Role:

As the Mobile Product Owner, you will take full responsibility for the conception and delivery of the products, developing a detailed understanding of how customers use them. You will be expected to quickly earn the trust of stakeholders to represent their requirements and make decisions on their behalf, whilst managing the product backlog.

Furthermore, you will be the primary point of contact for prioritising and articulating requirements into the development team, and provide sign-off on story cards, and acceptance of all key deliverables.

The Person:

This role requires a heavyweight Product Owner with specific experience in delivering compelling, innovative mobile products. You will already have a successful portfolio of brands behind you and will be looking for a role which is going to utilise that experience and challenge you. You must have already operated within an e-commerce environment and have an understanding of new technology trends and where the next innovation is coming from. A solid track-record in the UK market is essential.
