The Company:

Our client is one of the world’s leading FTSE businesses who have performed at a phenomenal level over the last few years. They provide a range of data and digital marketing solutions into both the B2C and B2B markets in almost 100 countries.

The UK business has been built around a successful direct to consumer offerings. They are performing at their highest ever level and delivering phenomenal results.

They have also established an Affinity Team which is approaching 18 months old. The journey so far has been about establishing the right strategy, process and support structure to be successful. That includes connecting with new and existing clients to promote their capabilities and offer their support where they can. They now require a Head of Business Development to spearhead growth.

The Role:

The Affinity business is all about creating partnerships, and leveraging the brand loyalty of their partners to propel the distribution of their capabilities to the benefit of consumers. The product is a unique date service and our client is ideally placed to satisfy the market need and demand.

The Head of Business development is accountable for the go-to-market strategy and execution for this new business. This includes ensuring the propositions they build are fit for purpose, address the market need and are priced appropriately. It then requires the role holder to identify the most effective routes to market, build relationships with intermediaries, develop the required collateral and generate new business opportunities, taking them from inception to completion.

The Person:

We are looking for candidates with a high level of commercial awareness. You will be adept at identifying opportunities, structuring a deal, negotiating and closing. This is a relationship based, high value, strategic approach to sales and therefore your ability to balance customer focus versus commercial targets. You should possess high personal drive and have outstanding ability to influence internally and externally.

The client is not looking for specific industry experience for this role; however, given the strategic importance we feel the successful candidate will know how to operate in large organisations and understand how to perform successfully where processes do need to be adhered. It is essential you have performed successfully in a partnership or affinity role at a high level previously.
