Marketing and Data Analyst

Refer a friend £50,000 - £55,000 per annum - Ref 882097

The Company:

My client is the international arm of one of the leading specialist travel companies in London, who are one of the most visited e-commerce sites in the UK.  Having been established at the beginning of 2013, they are still an early-stage business, but have the backing and resources of a much larger organisation to remove the risks you would typically face with start-ups. They have experienced substantial growth since their conception and are now on the lookout for a Marketing and Data Analyst who can help them to focus their efforts in all the right areas and assist in the future growth of the business.

The Role:

You can expect to spend your time analysing and maintaining industry, customer and transactional data as well as working on product development initiatives to leverage that data. You will be the owner and authority of all data and your expertise will shape and lead the data strategy. This is a split role where you will have the opportunity to affect the day to day as well as the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining daily/weekly/monthly reports and dashboards, as well as creating ad hoc reports as required for stakeholders based on analytics, transactional data files, sales reports, etc.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert within the data arena, sharing your insights on customer behaviour and transactional data trends; ensuring stakeholders are informed of relevant progress and developments
  • Helping Product Owners understand customer insights data and how they can use that knowledge to shape and prioritise their product development roadmaps
  • Acting as a Product Owner/stakeholder and internal customer for data and reporting related product development, providing requirements, performing UAT (user acceptance testing) and working closely with the development team throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Maintaining BAU (business as usual) industry data across the website – ensuring the accuracy of data such as station lists, timetable data and associated mapping files and affiliate handoff links - investigating and communicating with third parties when required around data errors
  • Reconciling monthly invoices from railway operators and affiliate partners against transactional data to ensure the accuracy of the data
  • Shaping data strategy going forward, assisting Developers in designing data storage solutions
  • Helping to ensure a first rate customer experience along with the rest of the team; assisting with customer queries where data retrieval and/or analysis is required
  • Supporting and proposing marketing actions and activities based on insights
  • Contributing to and participating in the continuous improvement of team processes

The Person:

This is a hybrid role and as such requires an individual who is flexible and skilled in all areas of data. You must have a solid background in analytics, ideally with a blend of online and offline experience. Industry experience is not important, but it is vital that you can work as part of a small team, getting your hands dirty where necessary. An understanding of CRM Analysis, Business Analysis and/or Systems Analysis would be hugely advantageous, as would the ability to run SQL queries yourself. This role requires you to have the right to live and work in the UK, without sponsorship.
